Bunky Cushing is a well known fund-raiser, party-giver, and man-about-town in Chicago. The Chicago Tribune has said the Bunky is “an arbiter of style for the creme de la creme of Chicago society,” and Vogue magazine has called Bunky “Chicago’s social tugboat.” He has entertained and escorted many ladies of international society including Charlotte and Anne Ford, Lynn Wyatt, Nan Kempner, CZ Guest, Dina Merrill, Jamee Gregory, the actress Tippi Hedren, and modeling legend Carmen Dell’ Orefice.
He has been associated with Ralph Lauren for over 25 years as a consultant, his time with the company taking him to New York, Miami, and finally settling in Chicago in 1990.His annual Valentine’s Tea, now privately known as the “Red Heart 100,” is in its 17th year and has been called “one of Chicago’s most sought-after-invitations” by Harper’s Bazaar magazine. He was contributing society editor, Chicago Social magazine, from April 1997, to November 1997, and society editor A-List magazine, from October 1995 to September, 1996.
